Nimbo Fork Lodge: A Serene Riverside Retreat in the Snowy Valley

Nestled in the Snowy Valleys, at the convergence of the mighty Tumut River and Nimbo Creek, lies Nimbo Fork Lodge. This rural retreat, situated between the towns of Gundagai and Tumut in New South Wales, boasts a prime location in one of the most picturesque regional destinations. With its stunning surroundings and the renowned Three Blue Ducks restaurant, Nimbo Fork Lodge offers a tranquil escape and an opportunity to immerse oneself in nature's beauty.

Our journey to Nimbo Fork was quintessentially Australian as we embarked on a scenic drive through rolling hills and farmland. Along the way, we encountered a picturesque rural landscape dotted with horses, sheep and cattle grazing peacefully.

Australia Tourism

Our stay at Nimbo Fork Lodge exceeded all expectations, starting with our spacious and inviting accommodation. The lodge offered a range of well-appointed rooms, each designed to provide utmost comfort. From cozy cottages to elegant suites, every room boasted tasteful decor and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

The Culinary Delights of Three Blue Ducks:

A true highlight of our stay at Nimbo Fork Lodge was the dining experience at Three Blue Ducks. Renowned for their commitment to sustainable, locally sourced ingredients, the restaurant presented a culinary journey like no other. Every dish showcased the region's flavours and celebrated the bounties of the Snowy Valley.

Exploring the Riverside Bliss:

While my husband embarked on two days of fly fishing along the Tumut River, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the natural wonders surrounding Nimbo Fork Lodge. The grounds offered a haven for exploration, with walking paths that wound through swaying gum trees and the sound of the river flowing. If there ever existed an ideal backdrop for the classic song "Waltzing Matilda" it would undoubtedly be found right here.

Our two-night stay at Nimbo Fork Lodge was a testament to the allure of the Snowy Valleys. The river that gracefully flowed in front of Nimbo Fork Lodge evoked a sense of nostalgia, transporting me to a time when Australia's beauty remained untouched and pristine. It served as a gentle reminder that amidst the fast-paced world we now inhabit, the untouched splendour of rural Australia still thrives. It was a precious opportunity to escape the chaos of the city, disconnect from the grid, and step into a simpler time. No peak hour traffic, no intrusive noise, just the serene embrace of a peaceful Australia, inviting us to savour the tranquility that is often forgotten in our modern lives.
