Experience the epitome of luxury and history at Milton Park Country House Hotel & Spa.

Travel to Southern Highlands

As you arrive, be captivated by the breathtaking view of the Southern Highlands' oldest and most precious cool climate gardens. Designed in the style of the 18th-century English School of Landscape, these magnificent gardens boast 10,000 trees, creating a natural and awe-inspiring sight.

To your right stands a grand country mansion, once the cherished home of one of Australia's most eligible bachelors, Anthony Hordern. Built in the Edwardian period, this historic house has a rich past and is now transformed into an exquisite hotel.

Take a stroll along the sandstone garden path and discover the indoor swimming pool housed in a charming vine-laced stone building. Built in 1910, this pool was the country's first heated and filtered one, reminiscent of a bygone era.

Milton Park was meticulously designed by renowned Sydney architects Morrow and De Putron for Anthony Hordern. This visionary man, along with his brothers, left an indelible mark on the Southern Highlands through their ownership of prestigious properties like Retford Park and Hopewood House. Notably, Anthony Hordern was considered one of Australia's most prominent figures in the 1920s.

Today, Milton Park is a haven of opulence, offering a ballroom, cocktail and champagne bar, billiards room, private dining room, and three remarkable restaurants, including the renowned Horderns Restaurant. With 34 deluxe rooms and eight suites, the hotel exudes an air of sophistication and elegance, harking back to its glamorous heyday.

Upon check-in, I was warmly greeted and guided to my Forest Suite, one of the hotel's four exclusive accommodations. Complete with a spa, fireplace, and private terrace, this suite boasted French-inspired furniture and plantation shutters, creating an atmosphere of refined luxury.

Milton Park is not just a luxury retreat but also a sought-after venue for weddings. Additionally, since 1948, the hotel has opened its gardens to the public, welcoming visitors to explore the tranquil surroundings.

While staying at Milton Park, be sure to take a refreshing swim in the indoor pool, wander through the exceptional gardens, indulge in a rejuvenating spa treatment, and savour the grounds.

Just a short drive from Sydney, you'll step back in time to the glamorous era of Hollywood in the roaring '40s. This enchanting destination exudes a sense of grandeur and captures the essence of an era known for its elegance and allure.
